Citrussy goodies....

Yeah, I am pretty sure there is no such word as "citrussy" either, but there's nothing to say we can't make it a thing :D

I made both of these in celebration of Grapefruit Month, to be celebrated in February for my partner in the Month of Odd Holidays swap on Craftster.  I found this great ink colour that made me think of ruby red grapefruits (which I *love*), and it inspired me to carve a grapefruit stamp.  I always test stamp my stamps (yeah, as if I made so many, right?), and that was fun, so I decided, after I mounted it on a piece of wood, that I would make a set of  tags and note cards to match.

I took some pre-made shipping tags and simply stamped the grapefruit onto them, and replaced the plain white cotton string and replaced it with baker's twine - that little bit of pattern or texture adds a wee bit of style I think :D

I made a half dozen A2 side fold note cards from a pretty mandarin orange card stock.  I took some pages from a used French book I bought from the library a few months ago, and cut them in two inch widths, and trimmed them fit the front of the card.  Before adhering them, I stamped random patterns of the grapefruit over the book page pieces, then adhered them to the front with a glue runner.  Simple and easy peasy.  I thought they looked rather cute.

So let's celebrate Grapefruit month - crack open a sweet juicy one now and enjoy!  Hmmmmmm!

  2. LOL - I was thinking about you when I was making it too - I should have made some green note cards with lime stampings as I was making these!
